Insurance Defense Attorney

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Defense Associate to join our dynamic legal team! As an Insurance Defense Associate, you will be responsible for representing our clients, who are insurance companies, in various legal matters including litigation, arbitration, and settlement negotiations. Your expertise in insurance defense law will play a critical role in ensuring our clients' interests are protected and that legal disputes are resolved efficiently and effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal counsel and representation to insurance companies in insurance defense cases, mainly professional liability and construction defects.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to develop effective defense strategies.
- Prepare and draft pleadings, motions, legal briefs, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials as necessary.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including claims adjusters and underwriters, to evaluate and manage claims.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law required.
- 3+ years of experience practicing insurance defense law, with a focus on litigation.
- Trial experience preferred and not required.
- Strong knowledge of insurance laws, regulations, and industry practices.
- Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage a high caseload and work independently.
