EDI/B2B Analyst
Summary/Objective: The EDI Analyst must be fluent with EDI concepts, best practices, and procedures. This role will interface directly with the internal business, as well as external EDI trading partners to establish the specifications for interchange activity.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Analyzing exception errors on daily reports and working to reduce these errors. These unique errors can include: translation errors, control number errors, and unknown trading partner errors.Providing support to various client departments to answer B2B-related questions and concerns.Acting as a liaison to our client's external B2B Trading Partners. This includes production problem resolution and transaction testing for network or ID changes. Audits, tests and resolves ANSI X.12 issues for compliance.Educating trading partners as needed.Delegating non-B2B issues to appropriate resources.Managing global issues affecting multiple trading partners and working with relevant third parties.Testing software upgrades, development changes, new documents, and special reporting. This includes support for the Senior B2B Analyst or mentor on the team.Implementing current and additional transaction sets.Maintaining our client's EDI Guidelines for all ANSI X.12/EDIFACT documents. This includes internal unit & system testing for new documents and versions as well as active participation with the team in developing rollout and testing strategies.Serving as an escalation point for resolution of the Functional Acknowledgment (997) Reconciliation process. Notifying internal customers of any relevant issues. Analyzing and resolving any technical issues concerning the 997 process. Resending data as necessary based on judgment and risk assessment.Conducting research on software and hardware products to justify recommendations and to support purchasing efforts.Serving as the escalation person for the daily audit of B2B processes. This includes root cause analysis and resolution of any B2B processing errors and requires an understanding of all points of failure in the data flow.Troubleshooting for any errors using the EDI, communication, and application software.Background in database development, SQL and queries knowledge for mapping and researching data processed.Prepare recommendations for process improvements and participate in testing/implementation with both internal and external vendorsSkills:
A bachelor's degree or related work experience.2+ year of experience with EDI ANSI X.12/EDIFACT documentsPreferred experience with OpenText/GXS products, such as GXS Application Integrator, GXS Workbench, BizManager.Working knowledge of B2B processes, programs and edits. This requires working knowledge of the transaction center and trading partner profile components of B2B software.High level of initiative with ability to self manageMust be self-directed, confident and able to work in a fast paced environmentAnalytical skills, logic, and an understanding of the new development requested, in addition to detail and accuracy.Flexibility and adaptability; high capacity to support and work in a team environment.Excellent analytical and design skills applicable to a complex business environment.Excellent written and verbal communication, problem solving and time management skills.Demonstrates strong interpersonal and customer service skills, developing and maintaining an excellent rapport within the department and with our internal/external "customers".Ability to work independently, as well as work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
