Duties
You will aid in the direction of a team of IT professionals located throughout the installation to ensure system and application availability 24/7.You will oversee infrastructure management, maintenance of systems, technology upgrades, and application and server support.You will serve as on-call coordinator for IT escalations to support operational requirements, humanitarian assistance efforts, disaster recovery, continuity of operations, contingencies, and exercises.You will be responsible for managing support operations, troubleshooting infrastructure technical issues, maintaining systems, inventory, and implementing technology upgrades.You will be on call 24/7 to manage and document operations maintenance activities and the performance of system backups and data restoration.You will participate in data center related project management activities to support all lines of business.You will be responsible for providing project management feedback on data center requirements for applications development projects.You will manage the operations of all IT activities aboard the installation.You will manage customer relationships to ensure that service objective expectations are developed and managed in the operations areas.You will establish, develop, and maintain effective working relationships with other coordinating organizations and agencies.You will deliver presentations on the installation program status, accomplishments, problems, requirements for support, and promotion of IT program objectives to the installation.You will provide advice, recommendations, and comments on the development of business opportunities and problem areas.You will participate in overall business technology planning, bringing a current knowledge and future vision of technology and systems as related to the organization's competitive position.You will assist in determining long-term information needs for the enterprise and participate in development of an enterprise-wide strategy for systems development and hardware acquisition and integration.You will prepare and present briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues.You will apply new developments to previously unsolvable problems and make decisions or recommendations that significantly influence important agency IT policies or programs.You will analyze trends in the nature and level of demands for services and balances user requests against system risk, vulnerabilities, and costs along with determining the feasibility of meeting additional requirements within existing capabilities.You will determine requirements for and evaluate the results of audit and verification programs to measure the effectiveness of the Information Assurance program and recommend appropriate actions to improve operational effectiveness and efficiency.Requirements

In addition to my experience demonstrating the four competencies above, I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector
overseeing communications infrastructure to include Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP); maintenance of systems, technology upgrades, and application and server support.
