Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the preparation and management of quarterly and annual worldwide income tax provisions, ensuring compliance with ASC 740. This includes ensuring accurate reporting of current and deferred tax liabilities and assets in financial statements, as well as analyzing and maintaining schedules for deferred tax assets and liabilities, particularly regarding temporary differences. Additionally, managed uncertain tax positions, providing proper documentation for tax contingencies, and coordinated tax footnote disclosures in financial statements to comply with FASB ASU 2023-09.

Job Responsibilities

Work with external auditors during financial statement audits to provide information and documentation related to income taxesCollaborate with tax planning teams to identify opportunities for tax savings.Evaluate the tax implications of business changes, such as mergers, acquisitions, or international expansionImplement and enhance tax provision software to streamline reporting processesDevelop and update internal controls related to tax provision processes.Develops tax strategies and policies to ensure compliance with local and federal tax laws and regulationsProvides leadership to managers, supervisors and/or individual contributorsAccountable for the performance and results of multiple related teamsDevelops departmental plans, including business, production and/or organizational prioritiesDecisions are guided by resource availability and Stewart objectivesApplies knowledge of key business drivers and the factors that maximize department performanceGuided by functional or regional business plans, impacts the department results by supporting and funding of projects, products, services and/or technologiesIdentifies and solves complex, operational and organizational problems leveraging resources within or outside the departmentPersuades managers and leaders to take action and/or negotiates with external partners/vendors/customersManages multiple related teams, sets departmental priorities and allocates resources to align with business objectives and annual planPerforms all other duties as assigned by managementEducation

Bachelor's degree in relevant field preferredCPA preferredExperience

Typically requires 10+ years of related work experience in Income Tax ReportingProficient knowledge and use of OneSource Tax Provision and Microsoft Office Products
