We are smart, fun, quirky, and innovative and wed love for you to join us.As the Manager of Subnational Data Operations, you will continuously improve operational processes and data pipelines for subnational data in support of cross-functional business teams including AbbVies MABI Analytics Teams, Incentive Compensation and Field Reporting teams. Subnational data is comprised of HCP and Account-level sales and prescriptions data which is a critical ingredient for hypothesis investigation of market dynamics underlying national performance trends as well as for incentive compensation goal setting and sales crediting. The Manager Subnational Data Operations plays a critical role in interfacing with suppliers of subnational data (e.g. IQVIA, Symphony Health) to understand changes in their data capture e.g. addition/removal of reporting pharmacies, product blocking, etc.; communicate appropriately with subnational data user segments, and implement corrections where appropriate under the guidance of Franchise MABI leaders to ensure that trends in data passed forward to consumption layers accurately reflect market dynamics.In support of these objectives, the Manager Subnational Data Operations oversees and continuously improves data quality management activities completed by the Commercial Data Operations Managed Service Provider team (predominantly offshore), identifying and ensuring appropriate actions are taken when material data issues are identified.+ Act as the Data Steward for subnational syndicated data, ensuring adherence to the USTO Data Governance Operating Model including:+ Championing Data Governance improvements aligned with Commercial Data Operations leadership+ Provide clear requirements to Business Technology Solutions (BTS) Data Custodians to translate business needs (evolving business logic, business data quality rules) into automated transformations and quality controls+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop user-friendly dashboards for real-time monitoring and insights into data operations performance for subnational datasets+ Managing the issue management queue arising from automated quality controls and user-submitted issues including prioritization, resolution, communications, and KPIs+ Managing priorities for handling of Critical Data Elements+ Managing the business data glossary, ensuring that terms, classifications, and business rules are effectively documented and accessible to data users+ Ensure that all compliance-related classifications and tagging are complete for all Critical Data Elements, and manage any audit requests+ Identify and action continuous improvement opportunities in the subnational data domain, developing, socializing and executing against business cases for investments to improve data operations and accelerate or risk-mitigate data pipelines, including:+ Standardize business rules for data processing, enabling easy ad-hoc analytics and support for cross-functional teams+ Consolidate and simplify the hops data goes through before moving to downstream consumption layers and reporting tools+ Ensure smooth operations and continuous improvement of internal and third-party analytics pipelines that leverage business logic applied to claims data to split HCP-level product TRx into product-indication TRx and NBRx+ Review quality controls implemented in the data pipeline to inform proactive communication to internal partners in this process+ Partner with franchise MABI to define and with BTS to implement correction factors for known over- and/or under-statements+ Facilitate new data onboarding and changes to syndicated data purchases including new suppliers of subnational data+ Ensure subnational data needs of launch product teams are met leveraging existing solutions and developing new ones as needed.+ Leverage the lessons learned from previous launches to avoid prior inefficiencies and maximize effectiveness+ Develop and execute strategic data initiatives and set operational priorities in coordination with MABI analytics teams, Data Strategy, sales operations, sales planning and BTS+ Effectively communicate status, results and achievements across all the appropriate teams+ Demonstrate a deep understanding of retail and non-retail datasets from syndicated data providers and possess knowledge of specialty pharmacy datasets.Qualifications+ BA or BS degree required. MBA or Masters Degree in Computer Science or Statistics preferred.+ Bachelors degree plus 8+ years of related work experience, Masters degree plus 6+ years of related work experience (business, system or commercial analytics, IT/systems experience)+ Strong working knowledge and experience of working with SQL, Python and Power BI+ Deep understanding of the pharmaceutical commercial environment and business needs, ability to translate to data requirements (e.g. IQVIA, Symphony Health data purchase scope) and infrastructure requirements and to communicate effectively on these topics with Commercial and Sales stakeholders+ Familiarity with the use of data for incentive compensation goal setting and crediting within the pharmaceutical industry, hands-on experience in this area preferred+ Demonstrated track record of effective management of process(es) related to data in a matrixed internal environment and with vendor partners reflecting strong attention to detail, proactive issue management and effective cross-functional communication+ Experience with data management tools and platforms (e.g., data warehouses, ETL tools).+ Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving+ Ability to manage and interact effectively with external vendors+ Demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information into a concise, easy to understand story.+ Builds strong relationships with peers and cross functionally with partners outside of team to enable higher performance+ Creates a learning environment, open to suggestions and experimentation for improvement+ Embraces the ideas of others, nurtures innovation and manages innovation to reality.+ Experience working with Snowflake or Commercial Data Lake Platforms preferred+ Demonstrated ability to use analytic tools such as Dataiku or SAS preferredAdditional InformationApplicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ?+ The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position.
