We are seeking a Senior Director of Engineering Operations to lead and define the operational strategy for our engineering teams. This role is key in shaping and mapping out the future of our engineering operations, aligning them with business goals to foster growth, efficiency, and high performance. The ideal candidate will have a strong operational mindset and proven experience in scaling engineering functions while driving process improvements across a large, distributed team.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Strategy: Design and implement a comprehensive operational framework for engineering, including process mapping, resource planning, and productivity improvement initiatives.

Process Optimization: Analyze current engineering operations to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, then introduce workflows and tools that enable automation and smooth handoffs between teams.

Scaling Engineering Operations: Develop and execute a plan for scaling engineering processes and team structures in a high-growth environment while maintaining performance and quality.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with engineering leaders, product management, and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of operational processes with engineering goals and product delivery timelines.

Tooling and Infrastructure: Oversee the selection and implementation of tooling to support engineering productivity, such as CI/CD systems, project management tools, and communication platforms.

Metrics and Reporting: Establish KPIs and metrics to track operational efficiency and team performance, using data to drive decision-making and improvements.

Talent Development: Drive initiatives around talent acquisition, team structure, and leadership development to support the operational growth and scaling of engineering teams.

Budget and Resource Management: Own the engineering operations budget, including planning and managing resources effectively to meet operational goals.

Qualifications:

10+ years of experience in engineering or operations leadership roles with a track record of improving operational efficiency.

Proven ability to map, define, and scale engineering operations in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong project management skills with experience in process optimization, resource planning, and cross-functional collaboration.

Expertise in leading distributed teams and driving operational excellence across global teams.

Ability to use data to inform decision-making and improve operational outcomes.

Excellent communication and leadership skills with a focus on creating a collaborative, high-performance culture.

Preferred:

Experience in scaling engineering operations at a technology company or fast-growing startup.

Familiarity with DevOps, agile methodologies, and modern engineering tooling ecosystems.

The annual base pay for this position is: $263,840.00 - $395,760.00
