Tremendous opportunity for a CPA with 10+ years of experience looking to be a partner and to join our dynamic team in our Woodbury, NY office.
This position is for an ambitious individual looking to be a partner in a rapidly growing and successful CPA practice. We would like for this individual to transition a high-volume of write-up/tax clients from a partner planning to retire in a few years.
Candidate should be proficient with general ledger activity and all aspects of tax preparation and planning including sales tax. The ability to develop and maintain client relationships is a must. Individual should have excellent communication skills being able to communicate effectively with clients and staff.
Key Objectives:Assume responsibility for planning, supervising, and completing engagements.Plan the timing and assigning of staff to engagements.Supervise and lead Managers, Supervisors, and Staff Accountants, as well as provide feedbackto them and evaluate their progress.Develop new client contacts and relationships beneficial to the firm.Recognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and efficiencieswithin the workplace.Apply knowledge of current issues in tax, regulatory requirements, and industry-specificconcerns to clients and be able to identify where they may impact a client and recommendstrategiesAssume responsibility for planning, supervising, and completing engagements.Review engagement work papers, resolve any problems and keep the partner informed of allimportant developments in the engagement.Provide on the job training to team membersAssist in administrative functions as assigned by the partners.Requirements:Excellent communication skills. Strong experience using tax software with Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS and/or CCH ProSystem FX, Microsoft Office, and Intuit QuickBooksDemonstrate knowledge of prevailing tax laws and developmentsBe proficient in the preparation of various tax returns, including, but not limited to: Individual,Fiduciary, Corporate, Partnership, Sales Tax and Multi statesProactive, self-motivated, well organized, and possess the ability to manage work effectivelywith others while managing client relationshipsSuperior attention to detailMust be organized and proactiveAbility to communicate with business owners and personnelBachelor of Science in AccountingActive New York CPA10+ years of recent, continuous CPA firm experienceExperienced tax professionalExtensive experience with write-ups and sales tax returnsFull-time work in the NYC office plus travel to client officesRecognize opportunities to provide additional services to existing clients and efficiencieswithin the workplace.Salary:
Up to $200k + (Commensurate with experience) + discretionary bonus
