Introduction:

The Sr. Retoucher works within a team that produces all of the images used for the Madewell site as well as print advertising and other forms of marketing material. As the Sr. Retoucher you will be the expert on how to tackle even the most complex of retouching tasks and be able to use your technical understanding and experience to consult the rest of the team on how best to achieve their goals.

The Role + Purpose:Must have a keen eye for aesthetics and be able to use your skills to enhance the beauty of an image through retouching and creative color correction.Must have the ability to retouch so that the any manipulation to the image is imperceptible to the viewer.Must be able to retouch without markups using one's own judgement to fit the aesthetics of the brand.Taking creative direction and applying it to images in order to achieve the best possible results for final images, and communicating with other teams in order to proactively address discrepancies and resolve issues.Maintaining production of a high volume of images under very tight deadlines, partnering with the shoot production and merchandising teams.Utilizing appropriate digital asset management techniques (from receiving studio images up to when the site goes live)Communication and the ability to take direction as well as work proactively with team members are equally important as the aforementioned technical requirements.Being team player that can handle a high volume of image retouching.Delivery of files will include internal/external FTP, and internal delivery sitesQualifications:

BS/BA degree or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform essential functions of the job.5-7 years of experience retouching in a high volume, deadline-driven production environment.Fashion industry experience is a mustSuperior Photoshop skillsIn-depth knowledge of retouching clothing, product refinement, and silhouetting as well as ability to control color/contrast for the web and print color spacesTechnical knowledge of color profiles, color conversions for various color spaces, and screen calibration softwareAbility to work very quickly without sacrificing overall image qualityAbility to work well with others, communicate with internal and external teams in a courteous and professional mannerTime management, organizational skills and the ability to work on multiple projects at onceAbility to make color corrections and color changesExpertise on fabric textures and patternsWe welcome you to apply, even if you don't check all the boxes. Salary Range: $80,800.00 - $97,000.00

The base salary offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region of work premises, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
