About Midlands Regional Center
Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.Job ResponsibilitiesThis position provides nursing care to individuals in designated units with responsibility for maintaining the nursing needs. Responsibility for maintaining acute medical issues for the Campus in absence of the Nurse Manager. Management of medications and procedures according to pharmacy and nursing procedure guidelines. Actively document and participate in the rehabilitation programs of individuals. Functions as the health care coordination of assigned units with responsibilities outlined in the Health Care Guidelines.
Assists in planning for and providing nursing care with responsibility for the assessment of nursing needs and initiation of nursing intervention according to all licensing and certification requirement.
Provides supervision and development of subordinate staff to ensure quality activity, care, and treatment for all individuals.
Assess needs of individuals, identifying obvious symptoms of physical or emotional illness formulates and complements a plan of care and evaluates outcomes. Collaborates with multidisciplinary team on integration of the nursing care plan in the ISP.
Performs clinical skills in a component manner to include a clean and safe environment. Providing training and acting as a resource for all other disciplines.
Performs and participates in outcome actives as otherwise assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Licensed Registered Nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing with at least one (1) year of nursing experience.Preferred Qualifications
Must be knowledgeable of the principles, practices, and techniques of current nursing practice. Have a good understanding of the nursing process and possess the ability to apply the nursing process in a clinical setting.
