Vice President, Privacy and Data Security

FOX Corporation is looking for a Vice President to join our Privacy and Data Security Team which is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA. The Vice President, Privacy and Data Security will play a key role in providing legal guidance on FOX’s initiatives impacting privacy, cyber security and data use. The Vice President, Privacy and Data Security will partner cross-functionally with FOX business lawyers, technology teams, and business leaders to advise on cutting-edge, technology-oriented privacy and data security issues relating to all aspects of FOX’s media business, including, but not limited to, consumer-facing websites, mobile and other applications, compliance, drafting/negotiating contract language, policy, training, investigations, industry self-regulation, government relations, legislation, incident response, and litigation. You will be working with the FOX Privacy and Data Security team as an invaluable resource, and will have a direct impact on our service as FOX continues to grow and scale, including internationally. The Privacy and Data Security team is fast-paced and collaborative, as we work on challenging technical and legal issues, in a rapidly evolving privacy landscape.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESOngoing compliance with privacy and data security laws and self-governing frameworks and standards, including advice and counselling, management of initiatives, and any required related written work productDraft and negotiate privacy and data security contract languageDraft privacy policies and other noticesConduct internal privacy education and trainingRespond to privacy rights requestsProvide support in connection with policy, government relations, legislation, and litigation related to privacy and data securityPartner with FOX colleagues and business leaders to implement principles, such as privacy by designRemain up to date on relevant privacy and data security laws and regulations, as well as on technological developments, threat vectors and evolving industry standards to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance adviceSupport co-CPOs and Information Security Teams on incident responseWHAT YOU WILL NEEDJuris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school8+ years of hands-on privacy and/or data security experience at a top law firm and/or as in-house counselExperience providing pragmatic and actionable advice to clients on various obligations and legal risks under privacy and data security lawsStrong substantive background in privacy, data security, and technology, preferably in a direct-to-consumer contextStrong eye for detail with sharp analytical skills; excellent judgment and strategic thinking abilityAdvise on data use, security and privacy, including in commercial transactionsFluency in translating legal advice into actionable guidance for non-legal cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environmentExceptional written and verbal communication skillsExceptional leadership and relationship management skillsTeam-oriented attitude and the ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals of all levelsAbility to prioritize and handle multiple projects across multiple business units at one timeRegistered In-House Counsel is acceptable, provided the individual is licensed in at least one U.S. stateNICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERExperience working in MediaAdmission to the State Bar of California
