Fox Corporation is looking for a Vice President to join our Privacy and Data Security Team. The VP, Privacy and Data Security will play a key role in providing legal guidance on FOX’s initiatives impacting privacy, cyber security, and data use. The VP will partner cross-functionally with FOX business lawyers, technology teams, and business leaders to advise on cutting-edge, technology-oriented privacy and data security issues relating to all aspects of FOX’s media business, including, but not limited to, consumer-facing websites, mobile and other applications, compliance, drafting/negotiating contract language, policy, training, investigations, industry self-regulation, government relations, legislation, incident response, and litigation.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESOngoing compliance with privacy and data security laws and self-governing frameworks and standards, including advice and counselling, management of initiatives, and any required related written work product.Draft and negotiate privacy and data security contract language.Draft privacy policies and other notices.Conduct internal privacy education and training.Respond to privacy rights requests.Provide support in connection with policy, government relations, legislation, and litigation related to privacy and data security.Partner with FOX colleagues and business leaders to implement principles, such as privacy by design.Remain up to date on relevant privacy and data security laws and regulations, as well as on technological developments, threat vectors, and evolving industry standards to ensure an ongoing ability to provide sound compliance advice.Support co-CPOs and Information Security Teams on incident response.WHAT YOU WILL NEEDJuris Doctor Degree from an ABA-accredited U.S. law school.8+ years of hands-on privacy and/or data security experience at a top law firm and/or as in-house counsel.Experience providing pragmatic and actionable advice to clients on various obligations and legal risks under privacy and data security laws.Strong substantive background in privacy, data security, and technology, preferably in a direct-to-consumer context.Strong eye for detail with sharp analytical skills; excellent judgment and strategic thinking ability.Fluency in translating legal advice into actionable guidance for non-legal cross-functional teams.Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, creative environment.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.Exceptional leadership and relationship management skills.Team-oriented attitude and the ability to collaborate and communicate with individuals of all levels.Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects across multiple business units at one time.Registered In-House Counsel is acceptable, provided the individual is licensed in at least one U.S. state.NICE TO HAVE BUT NOT A DEALBREAKERExperience working in Media.Admission to the State Bar of California.We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
