What You Will Do:As a key member of the Legal Affairs team, focus on a range of cyber security and privacy matters.Conduct legal analysis and research related to cyber security regulatory and industry requirements and privacy and data governance laws and regulations impacting Tyler and its clients.Work closely with Tyler’s Security Incident Response Team and other internal stakeholders in the review of potential data security incidents and the coordination of data security incident responses, including incident investigations and internal and external communications.Interpret current and pending client and vendor contracts and legislation to communicate cyber security and privacy compliance requirements to appropriate stakeholders.Review, negotiate, and draft cyber security and privacy related provisions and agreements, including data protection agreements.Work directly with Tyler’s business teams providing day to day, practical advice and education on cybersecurity and privacy legal risks, complex business relationships and compliance topics.Work collaboratively with internal legal and business teams to create standard cyber security and privacy policies, practices, and procedures.Advise on data privacy and management matters, including operationalizing Tyler’s privacy program while driving Tyler’s corporate strategy.Qualifications

What you will bring:1-2 years of law firm or in-house experience preferred.Strong knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and industry practices related to data governance, cybersecurity and privacy.Technical skills including incident response experience would be a huge plus.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, stickler for attention to detail.Experience handling data privacy and data security incidents preferred.Pragmatic approach to complex legal issues.Ability to work with cross-functional internal and external stakeholders.Willingness and energy to work in continually evolving areas of the law and across a wide variety of products, services and business settings.JD degree and license to practice law in any US state.IAPP certification and/or participation in University of Maine School of Law or similar information privacy program a plus.
