Chief Financial Officer/Principal Advisor
FLSA Status: Exempt
The Principal Advisor role at Growth Operators is a client facing position, serving as the Chief Financial Officer to Growth Operators’ clients and managing client engagements and projects. Services are provided in the form of outsourced services (interim or fractional roles with clients) and advisory services (specific projects). Work performed by the Principal Advisor on client engagements may include the following:
Oversee multiple client projects and manage the Growth Pro team's performance on engagements.
Provide leadership, direction, and management of clients' finance and accounting teams.
Provide strategic recommendations to the client's CEO/president and members of their executive management team.
Manage the processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and oversee the preparation of all financial reporting.
Advise clients on long-term business and financial planning.
Establish and develop relationships with clients' senior management and external partners and stakeholders.
Business development and networking with potential clients.

Required Qualifications and Core Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA (Active or Inactive) and/or MBA preferred
15-20 years of finance and accounting experience
Experience in the CFO chair and managing a team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
Must be experienced at engaging with staff at all levels within the organization and exercise sound judgment
High level of proficiency in MS Excel, various accounting and ERP systems
Enjoy working with multiple clients in a variety of industries
Ability to work in a fast-paced collaborative environment with client and internal team
Experience working in mergers & acquisitions
Experience working with private equity-backed companies
Interest in Business Development, strong network
Must be able to spend substantial time in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul, MN area for onsite client work as needed
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with some flexibility on work schedule and location.
Work Environment/Travel
This is a hybrid position. The work is performed on-site at client locations, remotely from home, and at Growth Operators' office in downtown Minneapolis.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Travel is primarily local during the business day; some out-of-town and overnight travel is expected.
Compensation/Benefits
Compensation package includes a base salary of $180,000-$225,000 plus bonus opportunity.
