The Total Rewards Manager is responsible for the design, analysis, development, communication, and administration of AP Total Rewards programs. This role ensures the quality administration of total rewards, including developing and delivering effective communication and education to all AP team members. The Total Rewards Manager provides strategic recommendations to contain costs and increase the return on investment in employee total rewards. This position involves auditing benefits and compensation plans, recommending updates, and maintaining compliance with ACA, HIPAA, FLSA, and COBRA requirements. Additionally, the Total Rewards Manager participates as a member of the HR team in process documentation, communication, and reporting.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Take personal responsibility for working safely within an

Incident and Injury Free (IIF) culture .Be a champion to support IIF efforts for working safely and building a culture of care and concern for each team member in the workplace.Consistently communicate and reinforce the tenets of an IIF workplace.Ensure adherence to processes and procedures that support an IIF culture.Comply with all company safety requirements and policies.Develop and maintain the

compensation structure

in alignment with the company's compensation philosophy, meeting business needs and enabling the business to be competitive in the employment marketplace.Participate in compensation surveys and gather compensation survey data sufficient to determine appropriate pay ranges for all positions.Manage and coordinate bi-annual pay band reviews and updates based on survey data gathered and regional market fluctuations.Conduct ad hoc job pricing as needed to meet the needs of the business.Assist with facilitating and distributing compensation communication and tools, including total rewards statement, merit review, and bonus program.Write, evaluate, benchmark, and market value position descriptions.Ensure compliance with FLSA/ADA/DOL and State and local regulations.Administer and support all union team member wage rate updates and classification changes.Understand the various classifications in different bargaining agreements.Plan, develop, implement, administer, and communicate policies, programs, and procedures related to

health and welfare benefits , wellness programs, disability, leaves of absence, and retirement benefits.Manage relationships with benefits brokers, third-party administrators, and vendors. Partner with brokers to identify new third-party administrators and vendors as needed. Provide recommendations to executive management.Manage ongoing enrollment changes and monthly billings; respond to employee questions and concerns; provide support to new employees to ensure benefits elections are completed within the allotted periods; assist users with system navigation issues and resolve technical problems with vendors.Update team member benefits and 401(k) participant enrollment changes and deductions.Administer the annual enrollment process and annual wellness program.Manage the 401(k)-plan administration and annual audit.Manage the administration of all paid and unpaid leaves (FMLA, LTD, Maternity, etc.).Responsible for

legal/regulatory compliance

of benefit administration and make necessary changes to remain compliant (ACA, HIPAA, FMLA, ERISA, etc.).Additionally, will oversee the preparation of annual governmental reporting requirements and plan audits. Track compliance reporting due dates and ensure filings are completed in a timely manner.Identify, track, and analyze key HR metrics for the organization.Maintain and apply in-depth knowledge of compliance requirements related to Human Resources.Maintain high security and confidentiality in all matters related to team member data, especially when dealing with sensitive issues.

Required Skills & Experience:

Bachelor's degree in human resources or business-related field and 5+ years of related experience in compensation and benefits.Master's degree in human resources or related field preferred.PHR and/or SHRMSCP preferred.Experience working with Workday, online benefits portals, and vendor systems, including building eligibility files and queries.Working knowledge of benefit plans such as HSA, FSA, and 401k.Working knowledge of legal compliance and regulations such as ACA, HIPAA, FLSA, and COBRA.Experience working in a union environment preferred.
