journey.Our IT Core Services team is seeking an AVP of Technical Product Management in our Worcester, MA location or remote work arrangement.This is a full time, exempt role.POSITION OVERVIEW:As a leader in The Hanover’s IT Core Services, you'll be shaping the direction for a specific Value Stream. You'll create strategies for its functions and work closely with enterprise architecture, business architecture and other senior leaders to outline a capability map, and roadmap and a development plan that aligns with these strategies. Regularly reviewing these plans to ensure investments are wisely aligned with both current needs and future developments. You'll handle project and operational requests for your Value Stream, making sure they are prioritized through standardized processes based on set criteria.This role involves working closely with execution and operations leaders to ensure everyone is clear on the expected results and that the operations teams are ready to go. You'll also work closely with risk management to understand the relevant IT and security risks associated with the value stream and its capabilities and with policy and standard owners to make sure objectives align with policies and standards, and that the right procedures are in place.Partnering with operational leaders, you'll aid in the establishment of KPIs or OKRs and ensure compliance with these metrics. Finally, you'll report on the status of the Value Stream to Senior Leadership Teams (SLT) / Technical Leadership Teams (TLT), making necessary adjustments to achieve the desired outcomes.IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:Establish the vision for the Value StreamSet the strategy for the capabilities in the Value StreamWork with architecture to define the capability map and road map to meet the established strategyRegularly revisit both capability map and roadmap to ensure appropriate investments are being made to meet the needs of today and the future.Submit project and operational demands for respective Value Stream and ensures appropriate priority is given based on established criteriaPartner with operational and execution leaders and teams to ensure desired outcomes are clear and achievable and that operations teams are operationally ready.Work with policy owners to ensure that objectives are aligned to policy, standards and appropriate procedures are definedPartner with operational leaders to establish Key Performance Indicator’s(KPI) and / or Objectives and Key Result’s (OKR)Govern compliance with policy and KPI’s / OKR’sReport out to senior leadership on state of the value stream and course correct as required to ensure outcomes are achievedWHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY:Bachelor’s Degree required preferred (preferably in Business, Finance, or Technology related discipline)7+ years related relevant work experienceP&C Knowledge strongly preferred but not necessaryMust be eligible to work in the US without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (ie. US Citizen or LPR, Green card holder)Strong project management skills and Strategic thinking with proven ability to lead and oversee multiple projects and project components that are complex in nature and have successfully achieved its objectives.Strong understanding of systems architecture, front and back-end systems capabilities, and business processes relative to Insurance.Highly proficient in Office 365, MS Azure and other project management tools such as Agile PlaceCreative, out of the box thinkerOversees and direct efforts of cross functional team members and to balance their workStrong communication skills and ability to communicate business concepts in a manner that translates to systems structures. Able to influence without authority particularly on difficult matters.Excellent problem solver, who anticipates issues, seeks out and analyzes information collaboratively to propose solutions.
