Hanover Technology Group is seeking a Solution Architect to join our team in our Worcester, MA Corporate Headquarters or remote work location. POSITION OVERVIEW: The Solution Architect (SA) provides leadership and facilitation for project or program solution design. The SA guides projects on their overall high-level solution approach, engagement with the broader project team, and represents the solution design at the formal architecture review board meeting. The SA is the owner of the project solution architecture process and solution architecture artifacts. IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL: Be responsible for understanding and enforcing enterprise architectural principals, standards & patterns at the project level Act with oversight from senior Architecture personnel and consults/enlists other architecture team members (EA, DA, IA) as required Work in close partnership with business community, business analysts, information and data architects to design and deliver impactful business software solutions Be responsible for technical approach, high level and detailed design of the project in accordance with architectural standards Be responsible for enforcing the use of standard tools and products across projects as directed by the Enterprise Architecture Organization Champion and conform applications to accepted Development Operations (DevOps) practices Identify and document the nonfunctional requirements for the application design Support the project implementation team and SME for Production Support team for occasional troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts Work in close collaboration with project manager for project status and estimation of resource needs Assist the project manager in recognizing and mitigating any risks to the solution's overall success or to existing systems and business processes Understands and mitigate the technical design on security, performance, and data privacy through review of proposed configurations and system implementations Explain existing system capabilities to key business users as well as any modifications in support of business processes. Keep abreast and leverages existing shared capabilities, products and software in proposed solutions Review any documentation provided by vendors and internal technical analysis teams for technical accuracy in meeting the business needs. Review and approve technical specifications; supports subsequent delivery processes to ensure solution meets business and architectural objectives as envisioned Mentor technical leads and developers in answering questions regarding the architecture and design of our systems Ensure project compliance to approved software development methodologies. Work comfortably in SDLC selected by project (waterfall, agile or combination of both) Communicate both technically and conceptually to provide architecture leadership and guidance to business and technical team members throughout the course of the project WHAT YOU NEED TO APPLY: Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience Minimum of 4 years in the industry with increasing development responsibility Exposure to multiple, diverse business systems, technologies and processing environments Software architecture, solution design and development experience Must be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (ie. US citizen or greencard holder) 4 years experience with designing Web applications (Web services, Integration components, and Web components). Good knowledge and understanding of various cloud technologies, Microsoft Azure experience is preferred. Advanced knowledge of designing and developing APIs (RESTful APIs) Insurance industry experience and corporate finance, billing, and claims knowledge preferred Guidewire technology experience preferred. Understands how changes/updates effect not only the specific domain but also other systems in assigned business unit Strong interpersonal skills in areas such as teamwork, facilitation and negotiation Strong planning, facilitation and organizational skills Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to understand the strategic ("big picture") and tactical perspectives of situations Ability to translate business needs into solution architecture requirements Ability to estimate the financial impact of individual solution architecture alternatives Ability to define multiple solution options to business problems Knowledge of key aspects of The Hanover's business Basic knowledge of information principles and policies Understanding of application development methodologies Understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, or client/server systems.
