Job OverviewAs the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), you will be instrumental in steering the human resources division, ensuring that all HR strategies effectively support the overarching objectives of the organization. This pivotal leadership role encompasses managing recruitment initiatives, staff development programs, employee relations, compliance matters, and organizational policies to nurture a thriving and engaging workplace.Key ResponsibilitiesSpearhead recruitment initiatives to attract and retain distinguished faculty and professional staff, contributing significantly to the organization’s pursuit of excellence.Collaborate with executive leadership and departmental heads to develop and implement customized training programs that facilitate the growth of all employees.Partner with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee employee-related legal expenditures, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local labor regulations.Work alongside the Provost and other senior executives to identify critical roles and establish succession planning strategies.Conduct annual reviews and present recommendations regarding personnel policies, procedures, and practices to the leadership team.Stay abreast of employment legislation and trends in higher education to maintain compliance with relevant laws and regulations.Design and implement competitive compensation and benefits plans to attract and retain high-caliber employees.Develop and sustain an efficient human resources information system to meet the organization’s personnel requirements.Lead and mentor the HR department, fostering a collaborative and effective team environment.Engage in organizational committees and contribute to special projects as necessary.Perform additional duties as assigned to support the organization’s mission and objectives.Required SkillsBusiness AcumenEffective CommunicationHR ConsultationCritical Thinking and EvaluationCultural Awareness and InclusionHR ExpertiseLeadership and Strategic NavigationRelationship Building and ManagementQualificationsEducation: Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field is required (Doctorate preferred).Experience: 6 to 10 years of relevant experience in a leadership capacity, ideally within the higher education sector or a similar environment.Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP certification is required; SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred.Company Culture And ValuesOur organization is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment that values collaboration, professional development, and the well-being of all employees.
