This position is responsible for proactively generating new business and providing account management for new and existing accounts. In addition, you will work with other Sales Managers to meet and exceed monthly revenue goals, as well as prepare and execute action plans, negotiate rates/contracts, and qualify customers. The Group Sales Manager will be responsible for representing the Arlo Brand and embracing its values and culture within each interaction.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES:

Proactively lead and generate new group business opportunities, drive pricing, direct sales, and results for the designated accounts and market segment in conjunction with the Senior Group Sales Manager.

Manage the hotel's top national and international key accounts.

Prospect on a daily/weekly basis. Maintain, prospect, independently solicit, and book business.

Develop, create, and maintain customer relationships to achieve optimum market share.

Identify, qualify, solicit, and pursue prospective group & meeting business from free market information, as well as information from purchased lead sources, analyzing historical and other statistical information (market segment, account mix goals), participate in conducting customer interviews and preparing customer call analysis reports.

Solicit group business directly and jointly with others through the preparation, execution, and completion of Action Plans.

Manage the hotel's RFP process/rate negotiations according to rate structure and guidelines laid out.

Maintain product knowledge at all times, including all relevant rate structures and promotional offers.

Plan and execute sales trips in line with the Sales and Marketing plan.

Within established parameters, quote and negotiate prices with customer representatives, confirming reservations by letter and drawing up contracts; sign for the hotel and obtain customer signature to close the transaction.

Upon closing, coordinate and follow up with other hotel departments to ensure delivery of superior guest services.

Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports as required by procedural guidelines.

As directed, participate in trade shows, conventions, and promotional events within the hotel, the industry, and customer organizations.

Achieve established room nights and revenue as outlined by the agreed-upon goals.

Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to provide clear directions to the team.

Communicate with employees using a positive and clear speaking voice, listen to and understand requests, respond with appropriate actions, and provide accurate information.

Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy restaurant activity, serving as a role model for the team and other employees.

Make decisions and take actions based on previous experience and good judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations.

Any other reasonable duties as assigned by a supervisor or manager.

We recognize we are in the hospitality industry, and that may require us to provide lateral service. We will on occasion call for each individual in the team to routinely perform various related tasks as needed in the spirit of providing exceptional service.

REQUIREMENTS:

University or college degree from an accredited institution; Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel & Restaurant Management, or related major or professional area.

At least 2 years of experience as a Group Sales Manager is an asset.

Ability to walk, stand, and/or bend continuously to perform essential job functions.

Exceptionally strong ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, with guests and employees, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy to de-escalate situations when needed and to collect accurate information and resolve problems.

Ability to work under pressure and deal with stressful situations during busy periods.

Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.

Dynamic, proven leader demonstrating entrepreneurial spirit, innovative thinking, change leadership, and focus on coaching and team motivation.

Must be innovative, organized, efficient, and able to prioritize multiple projects while working with a team.

Exceptional interpersonal skills required; must be able to present self professionally at all times.

Must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization.

Strong work ethic and self-starter who is a team player and comes with a can-do attitude.

Basic computer skills and knowledge of various discipline-focused computer programs, including a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Delphi Cloud, Opera Cloud, and Cvent.

Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Intellectual and analytical curiosity.

Experience selling innovative brands is a plus.
