As a Senior Software Engineer on the Education & Reform team you will be responsible for designing and building large scale backend systems for behavioral interventions and consequences, education, and visibility. You will work on services with substantial scaling needs in the critical path of many critical user journeys, and you will feel a true sense of ownership and responsibility in thoughtfully and fairly protecting our users, while carefully balancing freedom and civility.

You Will: Build large-scale distributed services for delivering interventions and consequences to users, including warnings, nudges, timeouts, account bans, and education, along with propagating these interventions to alt accounts. Work on a large greenfield effort to increase trust, visibility, and education in Roblox’s moderation. Help evolve our moderation infrastructure to meet new safety and compliance requirements. Work with a tightly-knit, high-performing, diverse, and energetic cross-functional product engineering team with a strong sense of camaraderie. You Have: 4+ years of experience with scalable infrastructure and distributed systems 4+ years of experience in Golang/C++/C#/Java/etc. Experience with modern microservice architecture. Capability and willingness to be predominantly a product engineer but occasionally serve a platform role with internal partners. Interest in Safety systems. A growth mindset. Preferred:

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits. Annual Salary Range: $189,110 — $233,840 USD Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
