The Account Management team is a user-facing team that builds systems and tools for users to more easily manage their preferences, privacy/consent, and the Roblox experience both for themselves and their families. We cover a large surface area relative to the size of our team, and as a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll have opportunities to take ownership and shape what and how we build. You will partner with 12+ supportive, collaborative engineers within our team, along with teams across the company to ensure safe, civil experiences that take into account our users' ages, locations, local regulations, and personal or parental preferences. You will report to the Engineering Manager of the Account Management Team.

You Will: Collaborate with a group of 12+ passionate engineers to build a world-class Account Management platform, accounting for diverse users, ages, roles, and relationships around the world. Build systems to scalably model international compliance requirements that control users' abilities to access features and platforms. Design and build backend services across large distributed systems that reliably handle over 1 million queries per second of traffic. If our systems go down, Roblox goes down. Help establish next-generation standards on the backend stack for the team. Work with teams across the company to ensure a safe and civil Roblox experience for users of all ages. You Have: 4-7 years of experience designing reliable, available and large-scale distributed backend services. 4-7 years of experience building and shipping products to production improving millions of users' lives. Expertise in compiled languages such as Golang, Java or C#. Experience setting a high bar for architecture quality, and ability to weigh and make the right tradeoffs between speed, quality, impact, and effort. The ability to think ahead and make the right investments that will solve future challenges. You Are:

The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits. Annual Salary Range: $189,110 — $233,840 USD Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
