Minimum 2 years of experience in hemo/oncology/infusion, triage, and phlebotomy. Must have experience with port access, IV starts, and lab draws.License:
Registered Nurse LicenseCertifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS), Chemo certification required, Oncology Nurse Certification (ONC) preferredMust-Have:
Experience in a busy hemo/oncology clinic with an infusion suiteJob Description:Work in a clinic setting with no weekend shifts and no major holidays required.Manage a patient ratio of approximately 1:6 in a 35-bed/bay hemo/oncology clinic with an infusion suite.Administer ordered injections, perform pump disconnects, and provide vaccines.Handle triage telephone calls from patients, families, and referring offices; conduct follow-up calls as instructed by the provider.Process prescription refills and home care referrals.Collaborate closely with providers and other nursing staff in the clinic.Review and triage lab/x-ray results; notify medical practitioners of critical values.Make follow-up calls to high-risk patients to assess changes in status or ensure appropriate treatment is sought.Document information from triage interactions in applicable electronic health records.Communicate additional documentation or notes from triage events to physicians for follow-up care.Perform patient vitals, medication reconciliation, and health histories; document in electronic medical records for provider review.Conduct pre-visit reviews of patient information to ensure electronic medical records are prepared for the provider during visits.Evaluate patient progress toward clinical and educational outcomes.Assist with office procedures such as EKGs, pulmonary function tests, bone marrows, and surgical procedures as ordered by the provider.Conduct nurse-only visits for non-physician-required services such as blood pressure checks, immunizations, injections, and patient education.Job Requirements:Required for Onboarding: ACLS - AHABLS - AHACore Competency Pharmacology Skills ChecklistSpecialty ExamBenefits of Travel Nursing:Flexibility in terms of assignment duration and location.Enhances problem-solving skills through adapting to new facilities and teams.Essential roles in public health crises, contributing to community well-being.Regular changes in environments to prevent burnout.Strong community of travel nurses sharing experiences and support.
