Summary:The Director BI & Analytics is responsible for managing the Business Intelligence team and leads efforts in planning, evaluating, and selecting the right tools and data science capabilities for the enterprise while ensuring that distributed analytics teams have the best data, processes, and technologies available to produce measurable business outcomes.

Directs the overall strategic and tactical decisions necessary for the implementation and development of business intelligence programs across the organization

Oversees a team of analysts that use data and statistical methods to provide insight into past operations and suggest improvements that impact future business performance

Responsible for standardizing the use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities

Lead the design and maintenance of business intelligence applications and development backlog

Identify opportunities to enhance business intelligence technology that will improve departmental effectiveness

Ensure data science and analytics programs are optimized for business impact and executed consistently and effectively, including deployment, maintenance, and measuring outcomes

Partner with business units and senior leadership to develop and maintain an enterprise-wide business intelligence roadmap

Manage business intelligence deliverables ensuring alignment with the strategic plan, schedule attainment and a well-managed backlog

Responsible for performing in-depth analyses of trends to enable the organization to diagnose and respond to the changing competitive landscape

Contribute as an active member of the data governance team, ensuring that all data model changes are standardized across the enterprise, documented and approved by Committee

Catalog business intelligence system processes and training documents and ensure they are complete, current, and updated regularly

Lead business analysts and personnel in the requirements gathering, design, and development efforts for business intelligence deliverables: dashboards, reports, analytics, key performance indicators (KPI’s), etc.

Develop and monitor department expenses as well as the use of capital budgets

Performs special projects and other duties as assigned by management

Performs all duties inherent in the role of a manager

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, or a highly analytical field equivalent required

Minimum eight years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, Data Science, or other quantitative disciplines

Minimum three years of direct team lead, supervisory or management experience

Qualifications:

Hands on experience using BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, or similar platform

In-depth understanding of MS SQL Server, Oracle, or similar RDBMS

Practical application of statistical analytics tools such as R, Python, or SAS preferred

Tableau CRM (previously Einstein Analytics) certifications preferred

Consistent track record of developing successful analytics-based solutions to ambiguous and highly complex business problems

Proven ability to create partnerships, implement data strategies and understand the underlying technology needs to enable productivity and innovation at scale

Demonstrated experience applying business intelligence best practices, methodologies, and problem-solving strategies

Ability to assist with data discovery & collaboration, ensuring data quality, and sharing of data from a variety of disparate sources

Problem-solving with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute multiple concurrent priorities

Proficiencies:

Excellent written/verbal and interpersonal skills. Ability to support, prioritize, and deliver on analytical requests from across the organization at all levels

Must be able to explain technical concepts and analysis implications clearly to a wide audience, and be able to translate business objectives into actionable results

Strong communication and presentation skills with an ability to effectively collaborate with executive leaders

Ability to engage with direct reports and peers to align goals with organizational strategy and establish performance metrics, objectives, provide feedback and develop talent

Highly motivated, self-directed, and acute attention to detail

The good faith range for this position is $134,000 to $167,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. The salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.
