Job OverviewWe invite a visionary and accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to join our esteemed arts-integrated charter school, commencing January 2025. In this pivotal leadership position, you will be responsible for overseeing the school’s operational functions, ensuring efficiency and safety while supporting an environment that fosters academic excellence and character development. As part of our leadership team, you will work in collaboration with the CEO to forge strategic operational plans that align with our commitment to empowering students.Key ResponsibilitiesSpearhead the development and management of operational systems, ensuring high standards for the school’s safety, facilities maintenance, and technological infrastructure.Direct the planning, execution, and assessment of school-wide initiatives, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.Cultivate and maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, overseeing operational needs related to food services, security, and more.Guarantee compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety protocols.Partner with the CFO and Director of Operations to oversee budget management, resource allocation, and financial planning to ensure sustainable operations.Provide comprehensive financial oversight, including payroll, purchasing, audits, and maintaining accountability for financial health.Collaborate with leadership in long-term strategic planning, focusing on school growth, facility needs, and operational expansion.Mentor and lead the operations team, enhancing a collaborative culture that aligns with the school’s educational mission.Establish and implement crisis management protocols and risk management strategies that ensure the safety of the school community.Supervise human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations, to foster a positive organizational culture.Required SkillsExpertise in operational management and systems development.Strong capabilities in budgeting and strategic planning.Proficiency in technology systems and data management.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Ability to cultivate a collaborative and positive team culture.QualificationsA Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related discipline is required; an MBA or a Master’s in Education Leadership is preferred.A minimum of 3 years of senior-level operational leadership experience, particularly within educational or nonprofit environments.Demonstrated experience in overseeing school operations, facilities, and financial management.Proven leadership skills with an emphasis on team management and strategic oversight.Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal regulations affecting school operations.Employment Type:
