We view ourselves as a start-up built on top of one of the world’s most recognizable brands.Position OverviewWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Digital Director to join our U.S. public affairs team in Washington, DC. This pivotal leadership position is responsible for shaping and executing digital strategies across multiple clients and sectors. As the Digital Director, you will be instrumental in fostering a digital-first mindset within our public affairs work, guiding both internal teams and clients towards innovative, data-driven digital solutions.The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a passion for digital innovation and a proven track record of developing and executing successful digital strategies. You will have a strong understanding of the evolving digital landscape and social media best practices and be able to create impactful campaigns that drive measurable results.Scope of WorkTeam Leadership:
Build, lead, and mentor a team of digital professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.Client Management:
Serve as a client-facing leader, developing and executing digital strategies for a diverse range of clients. Collaborate with internal teams and clients to deliver high-impact digital campaigns that support public affairs goals.Digital Strategy Development:
Lead the development of integrated digital strategies that align with client objectives. Stay ahead of industry trends and apply insights to build digital-first public affairs plans.Public Affairs Campaigns:
Develop and deploy digital campaigns for public affairs, using audience research to inform targeting strategies. Create both organic and paid content plans and use digital platforms to engage key stakeholders to deliver on client objectives.Business Development:
Play a leading role in pitching and winning new business. Contribute to the growth of EGA by identifying digital opportunities for prospective clients and presenting innovative digital solutions.Data-Driven Execution:
Oversee the execution of digital plans and tactics across social media platforms. Utilize analytics to track performance, adjust strategies in real-time, and provide detailed reporting on campaign success.Social Media Expertise:
Understand social media platforms, users, and best practices. Advise clients on social media strategies, content creation, and influencer engagement to build visibility and advocacy.Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with other discipline and regional experts within EGA and Edelman, such as creative, crisis, and social teams, account strategists, and subject matter and regional experts, to offer clients tailored advice and solutions.Manage the Business:
Work closely with finance to manage projects, including budget and adequate staffing.Basic QualificationsBachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field.8+ years of experience in digital strategy, social media management, or public affairs, preferably with experience in an agency setting and in political campaigns or advocacy.Proven experience leading digital teams and managing high-profile clients.Expertise in audience research, digital targeting, and social media platforms.Strong understanding of paid media strategies, including digital media advertising and programmatic buying.Experience in using analytics tools to track, measure, and report on digital campaign success.Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex digital concepts clearly and persuasively to clients and stakeholders.A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for innovation and creativity.Preferred QualificationsConsistent ability to develop, manage, and implement client strategies both with client leads and the client directly.Ability to manage up by ensuring client strategy leads have necessary and current information; manage down by imparting knowledge to more junior team members; and manage across by ensuring that relevant expertise across the EGA and Edelman network are brought together to ensure unique insights and strategies are delivered and implemented for our clients.Strong skills in organization, research, writing, editing, and client interaction, while thriving under pressure and fostering teamwork.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and serve as an internal hub for clients work and a working level point of contact for clients.Digital literacy through the use of social and digital tools, channels, and platforms that drive public affairs activities with clients.An interest in advancing the business organically and through new business initiatives.$95,000 - $155,000 a yearAn employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
