WSP is currently initiating a search for a

Senior Vice President, Alternative Delivery Principal Director.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in procurement and delivery of transit, highway and infrastructure projects using Alternative Delivery methods (P3, DB, PDB).

Any location within the Southeast Region will be considered but the successful candidate must be available and willing to travel extensively to project/pursuit locations.

This individual will be the main point of contact for contractor and developer, contract negotiations and serve as Principal in Charge (PIC) to select projects while partnering closely with Technical Excellence Centers (TECs), senior technical personnel, and the relevant Regional/District leadership reflective of the project’s location.

Your Impact

Candidate must have job history working for a contractor (general contractor, design-build or EPC firm), with a proven background in Transportation and Infrastructure projects and experience in HSR.

The candidate must have recognized industry reputation with Contractors/Developers and proven experience in directing and supporting both pre-award and post-award services for design-build and P3 projects in excess of $1 Billion Construction Value.

Proven ability to successfully manage large, multi-discipline, multi-contract assignments with demanding schedules.

The candidate will track major transportation design-build prospects in the Southeast Region.

Support the development of capture plans for new projects/programs, suggesting to Alternative Delivery National Director potential teaming partners.

Prior to short listing, assist with preparation and review of SOQs.

After short listing, assist with preparation and review of responses to RFPs.

Responsible for overseeing schedule, budget, quality and profitability of assigned projects.

Facilitate work planning activity, oversee pre-award fee development, profitability analysis, cash management, quality management, and risk/change management.

Oversee development of post-award scope, schedule and fee development.

Assist with contract development and lead negotiation with AD National Director and Contractors.

Lead transition from pre-award to post-award whenever required.

Big-picture thinker, commercially minded. Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

May serve as pursuit lead or capture manager on select large strategic or complex assignments.

May serve as Principal In Charge and be engaged in delivery issues.

Schedule and conduct periodic project executive reviews to oversee and facilitate successful project delivery performance.

Representing WSP's alternative delivery capabilities in assigned locations, markets, and at industry associations to increase Company visibility in the infrastructure and design/build arena.

Implementing effective marketing activities to achieve stronger net revenue growth.

Create effective long-term client/contractor relationships.

Provide support and direction to develop Design Managers and Key Personnel bench strength with Alternative Delivery experience.

Oversight/support of transportation and infrastructure design efforts using Alternative Delivery procurement methods from pre-award through contract close-out.

In conjunction with TECs and operations management, Planning, Scheduling, Coordinating and Determining staffing levels and assignments needed for pursuits and projects.

Participating in/completing ad hoc assignments as needs arise.

Responsible for overall AD Market Development for Alternative Delivery in SE.

Who You AreRequired Qualifications

Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field.

Minimum 17+ years of professional engineering experience from contractor side that includes responsibility for the pursuit and execution of large civil infrastructure design and design management on major transportation design-build projects.

Proven track record as Project Executive for Heavy Civil, and PPP projects.

Maintained client relationships with contractors, developers and other private entities.

Experienced in development and management of strategic marketing programs.

Experienced in development and management of a wide range of contractor relationships and specific program and/or project pursuits.

Experience maintaining a visible and positive profile with industry associations in the transportation and other key markets.

Active affiliation with professional societies, community involvement and industry publications are desirable.

Experience collaborating amongst various design leadership, technical disciplines and across regional boundaries.

Successful management of multiple assignments with a demonstrated commitment to quality control programs.

Strong communications, leadership, and organizational skills with ability to build successful teams.

Proactive approach to project leadership including personal ownership of the project’s timeline, quality and financial success.

Strategic vision to position our firm as the pre-eminent designer for Alternative Delivery teams.

Demonstrated creativity, foresight, and mature judgment.

Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.

Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Strong relationships with International Contractors and Developers.

Complex Projects experience throughout Southeast.

HSR Rail Experience.

Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering highly preferred.
