The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing front line technical support and troubleshooting for user accounts, computers, peripherals, and related software within the organization. This role ensures smooth operations and user satisfaction by resolving account, hardware and software issues efficiently.

Responsibilities:

Under direction, ensure that the activities of this position and IS services are consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Catholic Charities, Diocese of Cleveland.Hardware Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve laptop, desktop, peripheral, mobile and other miscellaneous hardware devices.Software Support: Provide technical assistance with operating systems (Windows 10/11, MacOS), applications, and software installations.Basic Network Support: Troubleshoot basic network connectivity issues, including VPN connections and internet access.Account Support: Troubleshoot user account issues and password resets.User Training: Educate users on proper computer usage and software applications.Remote Support: Provide remote technical support to users through ticketing systems and remote access tools.Problem Resolution: Document and track technical issues to identify recurring problems and implement solutions.Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned or directed.Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

Normal office environment.This role will primarily be desk-based work, with potential for visits to remote sites for project work.Constant sitting, talking, standing, listening/hearing in working with current employees and supervisors and managers and providing help desk consultation and troubleshooting;Reading, writing, grasping and finger dexterity needed to manage correspondence, faxing, copying, answering phones, forms/documents, computer, keyboard, computer hardware, help desk required on a frequent basis;Tasks require visual perception and discernment with computers, troubleshooting, inventory and on a frequent basis;Communicating with the public;Frequent use of computer and telephone/cell phone;Able to occasionally lift/carry up to 40 lbs. unassisted in PC replacements.

Requirements:

Combination of education and experience normally represented by an Associate's Degree and/or Certifications, and/or 3 years on the job experience.Must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire.Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.Working knowledge of basic networking and Windows desktop operating systems.Demonstrated success in working as part of a team.Must have competent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills in order to work with a variety of people.Must have excellent organizational skills, strong detail orientation and the ability to maintain confidentiality.Must have ability to work under pressure and provide pro-active approach to avoiding and solving problems.Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License, provide a copy of driver's license, and are subject to a Moving Vehicle Report (MVR) check through the Department of Motor Vehicles annually.Any MVR grade of "unacceptable" is not permitted to operate a company vehicle on behalf of Catholic Charities.Final applicant is required to be fingerprinted to complete background check.
