leadership team, the Directors of Marketing and Partnership Marketing as well as across the entire organization. Interpersonal skills that can motivate and foster collaboration with a wide array of stakeholders including staff, volunteers, industry partners and sailing organizations, are critical to success in this role.The position is a crucial member of the organization and is involved in major strategic and operational decisions affecting the organization and responsible for the following:Develop, manage and achieve department budget and goals for revenue & membershipsExecute on the Membership value proposition and strategic planLead our outreach and communication to both group and individual membersManage the organizational membership loyalty program(s)Responsible for developing and implementing services and programs for the 1,500+ organizational members and 43,000 individual members Collaborate across the organization and work with all departments to promote broad array of services, programs and products to members and potential membersManage, develop, and train the Membership Team to provide first class customer service Solicit member feedback on programs and services and develop actionable opportunitiesWork within our existing database system for outreach while leading the membership transition to a new systemPromote existing membership benefits and improve membership value by enhancing membership benefits working with the Partnership TeamCreate and implement member retention strategiesAssess the marketplace and ideate for exponential growth opportunitiesAbility to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays if neededAbility to travel domesticallyExplore best practices with other NGB’s and share both internally and externallyWho you are:Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related discipline required. MBA or advanced degree preferredMinimum eight (8) years progressive experience and a demonstrated track record of accomplishments in sales, marketing, operations, and managementMember-based association and/or non-profit experience a plusExperience leading sales efforts/teams for member driven organizationsExperience in fiscal management of a $2+ million budgetPossess solid leadership skills with an ability to work effectively and accomplish tasks, projects, and goals through influencing others within a complex organizational structureBe detail and process-oriented with strong program and logistics management skills and planningPossess the ability to present one’s own ideas with clarity and generate buy-in and commitment from multiple constituenciesBelief in the Olympic movementAppreciation for the sport of sailingInterested in hearing more?
