Effective 11/30/24, IU Health will not allow IN RN’s to work at their facilities (SEE EXCEPTIONS BELOW).The last day for IN RNs to start a NEW contract is 9/9 (allows them to finish a contract by 11/30).Periop/OR RN’s, Allied and Ambulatory RN travelers are exempt from this rule.IU Health is now offering charge pay, which is a bill rate bump per hour.Traveler must have IN/Compact license in hand or have submitted their fingerprint application package for their license to apply for this position.IU Health University and Methodist are teaching facilities and require all travel nurses to agree to the possibility of precepting and/or being assigned students to shadow them while on assignment.Shift Requirements: 4x12 or 3 x 12.Job Requirements
MUST BE FLEXIBLE WITH WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS, WEEKEND REQUIREMENT WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS.TRAVELERS MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 50% OF THE WEEKENDS IN THEIR CONTRACT.Skillset Requirements: Minimum 2 Year Experience.Floating Requirements: Unit travelers may be expected to float to different levels of care (Med-Surg, PCU, ICU) at both University and Methodist Hospitals.Staffing Ratios: 1:5-6.Schedule Information
WEEKEND REQUIREMENTS WILL BE BASED ON UNIT NEEDS.Unit Specific Information
This is an Ortho/Trauma med/surg unit.About 20% of our population is ortho, this is your scheduled hip and knee surgeries that we collaborate with the ortho team and have on the unit for about 24-48 hours.The rest is the trauma population, so MVAs, shootings/stabbings, falls, etc.These patients either come from an emergent surgery or ICU with many drains and tubes.This is a high acuity, fast-paced unit that requires teamwork and strong communication skills.
