Must be able to circulate in the OR.Screen for competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care.Nurses will float to Postpartum on occasion requiring care of the infant as well as the mom.RN is required to titrate drips.Schedule Information
Shifts: 0630-1900, 1830-0700.Self-scheduling allowed, can accommodate most schedule requests.Every third weekend required, could be up to every other based on unit need.1 major, 1 minor holiday requirement.Unit Specific Information
# of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms.# of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3.# of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit for assessments of patients over 20 weeks with pregnancy complaints.# of Postpartum beds: 36.Births per month: Up to 400.Follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain meds.Charge Nurse available on both shifts.Nurse aids/surgical techs on unit: 2 OBTs per shift.OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7: 3 residents and 1 supervising MD.Anesthesia in house 24/7: CRNAs.RT Equipment: Nasal cannula.Tele/Monitor Techs: Tele in recovery after a c-section; RNs required to read their own strips; Obix EFM System.Scrub Color/Dress code: Surgical scrubs provided.Orientation: 2-3 shifts of unit/department specific orientation.Additional Details
