L&D RN position available.# of L&D Beds: 16 labor rooms and 9 antepartum rooms.# of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 3.# of Triage beds: 7 bed triage unit where they assess patients who are greater than 20 weeks with pregnancy complaints.# of Postpartum beds: 36.# of Births per day? Month? Year?: Up to 400 per month.Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?: 1:1-2 labors, 1:2-3 antepartum.Common diagnoses/Types of patients: High-risk OB and routine obstetric care.Are RNs required to titrate drips?: Yes.Common titratable &/or set rate drips: Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, pain meds.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Charge on Both Shifts.Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit? Duties?: 2 OBTs per shift.OB/Neonatologist in house 24/7?: 3 residents and 1 supervising MD on the floor at all times.Anesthesia in house 24/7?: CRNAs on the unit 24/7.RT Equipment (Vents, Cpap, BiPap, High Flow, etc.) Are RNs required to do anything with these besides trouble shoot?: Nasal cannula.Are there Tele/Monitor Techs on this unit? Are RNs required to read their own strips? What brand are the tele monitors?: Tele in recovery after a c-section.EFM System: Obix.Job Requirements
Ability to circulate in ORs.Competency in normal newborn assessments and routine baby care.Floating to Postpartum may be required.Expected to care for the infant as well as the mom when floating to Postpartum.Schedule Information
Shifts & Scheduling: 0630-1900, 1830-0700.Self scheduling, can accommodate most schedule requests.Weekend Requirements: Every third weekend, but could be up to every other based on unit need.Holiday Requirements: 1 major, 1 minor.Floating Requirements: Will float to Postpartum, occasional float to the house to be a 'sitter'.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2-3 shifts.Unit Specific Information
