The Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist shall be able to work independently on all medical physics duties which include but not limited to provide the technical direction to Medical Dosimetrists, Therapists for external beam, stereotactic radiosurgery, prostate implants, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT and HDR treatments. Medical Physicist shall have the full capability to perform 3D, IMRT/VMAT, SRS, SBRT and HDR Brachytherapy treatment plans if desired based on clinical need.Job Requirements
Minimum Education: Master's Degree or Doctorate in Radiological Physics or a closely related field such as physics, biophysics or health physics.Minimum Experience:Required Certification/Registration: Passed Part II of ABR board examNew York State license application submitted within 30 days of start dateBLS certification within 90 days of employmentMust have NYS license on Radiation Therapy PhysicsMust be familiar with Varian Truebeam and IX acceleratorsMust be familiar with Eclipse/Aria software.Prefer to have Varian HDR experiencesSchedule Information

BLSStands considerable part of the day.Considerable mental and visual demands.Must be alert, in control of equipment and observation of patient's condition.Work in a quiet, dedicated and controlled environment conducive for the concentration necessary to perform the accurate calculations necessary for patient treatments.Lifting of heavy equipment and the handling of extremely sensitive instruments are necessary on a daily basis.
