The nurse is required to have 2 years recent experience and their BLS (ACLS is preferred).Experience or 'Must have' skills: 2 years experience.Schedule Information

Shifts & Scheduling: 12 hours, 7-7.Manager will make schedule, do try to block nights together.Staff are allowed to swap shifts.Weekend Requirement: yes, minimum of 5 weekend shifts per 6 week schedule period, may be more if there is a need.- Nights: Fri and Sat, Days: Sat or Sun.Holiday Requirement: yes if there is a need.Unit Specific Information

Unit: Medical Surgical Elmore HospitalCommon diagnoses/Types of patients: Pediatrics to geriatrics.Typical MedSurg patients- pneumonia, CHF, COPD, hysterectomy, choles, appys; babies with elevated bilirubin, asthma exacerbation, and SWING bed patients (rehab).# of Beds: 10 can expand to 18.Nurse:Patient Ratios: Typically 1:4, average is 1:5 can go up to 1:6 on rare occasion.RT Equipment: Everything except for vents- CPAP, BiPAP home regimen, occasional high flow.RT will set up and monitor.Are there tele/monitor techs on this unit: Remote tele tech.Preferred if RN can read strips.Currently, we are using Spacelab monitors, which will be moved to Philips in May 2024.Are there nurse aids/patient care techs on this unit: Yes, 1:10.Is there a Charge Nurse on each shift: Charge nurse will take a 1:2 assignment on occasion- travelers may be charge if they have charge experience, will typically be travelers that have extended.How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation: Two 12-hour shifts on the unit with a preceptor.Additional Details

Floating Requirements: could float to L&D or ED for helping hands.Scrub Color/Dress Code: Any scrub color and patterns are allowed.Scrubs are also provided but not required to be worn.
