New Graduate Nurse Resident - Observation Unit - Nights

Overview:
Compensation / Benefits$20/hr.Rate will increase after passing NCLEX.Evening differential $2.50/hr.Night differential $3.00/hr.Weekend differential $3.00/hr.Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, retirement plans, free parking, and opportunities for advancement.Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a fast paced 16 bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit. Common problems seen in our unit include chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our nurse patient ratio ranges from 4-6 patients depending on acuity. Our care team includes a charge nurse and unit assistants with support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We orient new nurses to our unit by providing an orientation program with a dedicated preceptor team, complemented by classroom courses, and a nurse residency program for new graduates. Qualifications:EducationProvide documentation of completion of a program of registered nursing and eligibility to write the licensure examination in Oklahoma.The graduate may continue to be employed in a Nurse Resident role until licensed, provided that the first licensure examination is taken within 90 days after graduation and the examination is passed within 6 months of graduation, on either the first or the second attempt.If the examination is failed after the second attempt, the Nurse Resident can no longer remain in the Nurse Resident position.Graduates of registered nursing program with concurrent LPN license will also be placed in Nurse Resident role.ExperienceCompletion of an accredited nursing program.Licensure / CertificationActive Oklahoma LPN license or active Multistate LPN/LVN license, if applicable.Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained thru re-training for duration of employment.Complete the 1yr Vizient Nurse Residency Program.
