Job Description
Systems Administrator
This is an on-site role, with an office located in Syracuse, NY.
Raymour Flanigan's Systems Team is looking for someone who is a positive influence and can provide technical leadership, expertise and guidance in an effort to continue the team's role of excellence. The Systems Administrator professional is responsible for the design, deployment and daily administration of systems architecture. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Plan, coordinate and perform system maintenance, software installations and upgrades, patch management and documentation.Work with systems team to regularly update and adjust our technology strategic plan to assure we meet and are aligned with our business objectives.Conduct hardware and software research and evaluations to determine if they will deliver their value and meet our needs.Work with systems team to automate regular management tasks and streamline processes.Support our user's needs, including troubleshooting, account maintenance and training.Maintain and monitor systems in our 24 x 7 environment to assure they are operating at optimal efficiency.Establish system specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; designing system infrastructure.Secure systems by developing system access, monitoring, control, evaluation and maintaining documentation.Lead and participate in the conceptual phases of identifying and solving business problems and initiativesWork with business departmental teams to help define and document business requirements for new metrics and reports.Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.Always act and communicate with our internal customers professionally and with an empathetic customer centric attitude.Perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of management.Required Skills and Experience
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required3-5 years of database, network administration, or system administration experienceSystem administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or other network related fields are a plusWorking knowledge of virtualization, VMWare, or equivalentStrong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocolsExperience with scripting and automation toolsA proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategy and plansStrong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.Ability to help create and map business needs/application requirements to technical solutionsExceptional analytical and debugging skillsExcellent communication and documentation skillsMust be a team player and be able to communicate well with the IT team and stakeholdersUNIX experienceHelpful Skills and Experience
VMware and Citrix virtualizationMS Exchange 2013 administration,Windows 2008, 2102 and 2016 ServersMS Active DirectoryVirtual Desktop managementIIS 7.x deployment and integrationIntegrate Business related SoftwareIn-depth knowledge of Windows 7 and 10Knowledge of SCCM SCOMKnowledge of Group PoliciesWorking knowledge of networkingInstall, configure and maintain virtualization clientsEmail support systems such as Spam filtering, archiving/retention, and Smartphone email accessPerformance and utilization monitoring technologies such as SNMP and WMIMicrosoft SQL knowledge and experience a plusLinux/Unix knowledge and experience a plusPowerShell/scripting a plus
