Job Description
JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
A Computer Scientist provides software and systems engineering services, generally within a work unit or group.
Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:
Advise team and project managers on technical problemsInteract with customers and project managers on a regular basisWork independently of direct supervision on projects of high complexityUse judgment and initiative in developing complex analytical and computational technologies and methodologies for solving problems, which may be technically unique to the industryInterpret customer requirements and develop and analyze the most appropriate approach to solve technical problemsDevelop design of system/software and associated design documentationPrepare and conduct design reviewsImplement design through software coding or hardware and appropriately document the design implementationPlan and execute unit, integration, and system testingParticipate in maintenance and sustainment activities of system/softwareProvide work direction or other guidance to subordinate technical staffEstablish and maintain positive customer relationsMay support pursuit of new business efforts, lead proposal efforts, and act as a technical consultantPerform other job-related duties, as required.DESIRED REQUIREMENTS

One of the following educational requirements must be met for this position:
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 14 years of related experienceA master's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of 10 years of experienceA PhD in an associated discipline and a minimum of 8 years of experience.In addition, a Computer Scientist V must possess the following qualifications:
Demonstrated expertise with computer-based systems and applicationsSenior-level programming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasksSenior-level expertise in the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniquesExtensive knowledge of systems engineering and software development lifecyclesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent planning/organizational skillsAbility to work under deadlinesSALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $102,648
to $132,080
annually.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
