JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
Job SummaryEssential Functions/Duties
A Computer Scientist III provides software and systems engineering services, generally within a work unit or group.
Employee will be responsible to perform the following functions/duties:
Advise team and project managers on technical problemsInteract with customers and project managers on a regular basisWork independently of direct supervision on projects of high complexityUse judgment and initiative in developing complex analytical and computational technologies and methodologies for solving problems, which may be technically unique to the industryInterpret customer requirements and develop and analyze the most appropriate approach to solve technical problemsDevelop design of system/software and associated design documentationPrepare and conduct design reviewsImplement design through software coding or hardware and appropriately document the design implementationPlan and execute unit, integration, and system testingParticipate in maintenance and sustainment activities of system/softwareProvide work direction or other guidance to subordinate technical staffEstablish and maintain positive customer relationsMay support pursuit of new business efforts, lead proposal efforts, and act as a technical consultantPerform other job-related duties, as required.Other Responsibilities

Working Conditions
Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness are required.
Travel to remote company work locations may be required.
RequirementsEducation, Technical, and Work Experience
One of the following educational requirements must be met for this position:
A bachelor's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of four years of related experienceA master's degree in an associated discipline and a minimum of two years of experienceA PhD in an associated discipline.
In addition, a Computer Scientist III must possess the following qualifications:
Experience with computer-based systems and applicationsProgramming skills in languages used for job-specific programming tasksFamiliarity with the application of industry standard hardware and software design and documentation techniquesExperience with systems engineering and software development lifecyclesEffective oral and written communication skillsGood planning/organizational skills.
