Certification Details NRP, ACLS, PALS - Preferred CPFT (Certified Pulmonary Function Technologist) Certification - Preferred Asthma Educator Certification - Preferred Job Details Respiratory Therapist role at Androscoggin Valley Hospital Under the direction of practitioners and the supervision of the Cardiopulmonary Services Clinical Supervisor, provides therapeutic and diagnostic cardiopulmonary services in accordance with practitioner prescriptions and policies Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities must include a thorough knowledge and understanding of applicable physiology and pathology Demonstrate ability to work independently Willingness to work in a team-oriented environment is necessary Effective communication skills are required Active rotation from the Pulmonary Clinic to RT staff work is required, as predetermined by Cardiopulmonary Clinical Supervisor Rotation for on-call duties is also required for this position May also require cross-training in EEG and sleep medicine depending on workload and department operations Familiarity with computer applications required Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications used at AVH Job Requirements CRTS WILL BE CONSIDERED 5 years of current RRT in Acute Care Facility experience - Required High comfort level working with Ventilators - Required HHN, BiPAP and CPAP experience - Required Request for time off during the course of this assignment must be noted and verified at upload (RTO requests after upload will not be approved; no more than 3 days of RTO will be accepted, not more than one holiday shift can be approved, must be available for all of the rest if requesting) Schedule Information Active rotation from the Pulmonary Clinic to RT staff work is required Rotation for on-call duties is also required for this position Unit Specific Information Dress Code: Scrubs, any color, no denim. Closed-toe shoes. No perfume or cologne. Therapist/Patient Ratio: 1:5 or 6 is typical Typical Patient Need: ED, Inpatient, transport to tertiary care center Additional Details RTO (Requested Time Off) must be noted and verified at upload.
