Job Description
RN-Pain Clinic performs at a competent level of nursing practice and according to the standards of practice for the area. Performs patient care and service through a multidisciplinary team approach. Functions to maintain an environment of competence, caring and concern for patients and staff members.
Department: Pain Clinic
Hours: PRN (Varied coverage during the week Monday-Friday between the hours of 8am-5pm)
Required: IL RN license, Associates degree in Nursing, BLS and ACLS within 90 days of hire
Pay: Based on experience, starting at $32.10
Responsibilities
Assessment- Collects pertinent data and information relative to the patient's health or the situation. Recognizes normal and abnormal findings when gathering data. , Assists with Pain Clinic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, Assists with Pain Clinic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures., Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to address issues related to patients through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making., Collaborates with physicians and other members of the health care team to address issues related to patients through the process of mutual information sharing, discussion, and decision making., Consistently documents care and service in accordance with current Plan for Provision of Care, systems (i.e. Meditech) and protocols., Consistently documents care and service in accordance with current Plan for Provision of Care, systems and protocols., Consistently processes patient charges for procedures and supplies correctly., Consistently processes patient charges for procedures and supplies correctly., Coordination of Care- Plans and evaluates care in collaboration with appropriate disciplines for assigned patients, Diagnosis - Analyzes assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnosis, problems, and issues., Educates patients and families appropriately for their procedures and treatment, Educates patients and families appropriately for their procedures and treatment., Evaluation- Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Reports data and outcomes to as appropriate to physician and/or other disciplines., Handles patient phone calls for patient education and/or reassurance needs., Handles patient phone calls for patient education and/or reassurance needs., Implementation - Implements care and supervises care delivered by other team members in alignment with the plan of care and approved safety and infection control standards., Knowledge - In collaboration with Leader/Director, actively pursues required knowledge and skills through orientation activities specific to the unit, unit based in-service programs, reading current literature and seeking new clinical learning opportunities. , Outcomes Identification - Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or situation., Participates in the ongoing variance monitoring of clinical pathways., Participates in the ongoing variance monitoring of clinical pathways., Planning - Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected, measurable outcomes., Provides rationale for patient care decisions based on standards of care specific to department. , Relationships - Establishes effective working relationships with peers, physicians, and other members of the health care team. Identifies and confers with appropriate resources regarding patient care decisions., Teaching - Employs teaching strategies to promote health and a safe environment.
