Job Title: Operating Room RN Circulator
Location: Las Vegas, New Mexico

Job Summary:
The Operating Room RN Circulator is responsible for assessing, planning, supervising, and evaluating the nursing care of patients undergoing surgical procedures. The RN Circulator ensures the seamless coordination of the nursing process, the medical plan of care, and hospital policies to deliver high-quality patient care in the operating room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate patient needs before, during, and after surgery, ensuring the highest standard of care is provided.
- Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans based on patient assessments and surgical requirements.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring the patient's rights, safety, and comfort throughout the surgical process.
- Coordinate and collaborate with the surgical team, including surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow in the operating room.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, responses to anesthesia, and overall condition during surgery.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, adhering to infection control protocols and procedures.
- Ensure that all surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment are available, sterile, and functioning properly before surgery.
- Assist with positioning patients, preparing the surgical site, and providing necessary supplies during surgery.
- Provide post-operative care instructions to patients and their families, ensuring understanding and compliance with care plans.
- Participate in continuous education and training to stay updated on the latest practices and technologies in surgical nursing.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred.
- Experience:
- Minimum of two years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- At least one year of experience in operating room or surgical nursing preferred.
- Licenses/Certificates:
- Must possess a current New Mexico RN License.
- Current certification in BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program).
- Fetal Monitoring Certification and STABLE certification required within 90 days of employment.
