Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Vice President to lead the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function across our vertically integrated real estate investment firm. The ideal candidate will oversee all aspects of FP&A for corporate, investment, development, residential, hospitality, and construction assets, providing strategic financial insights and guidance to support the firm's growth and performance objectives. This role requires a leader with deep experience in real estate finance, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex financial information to both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

Responsibilities:
  • FP&A Leadership: Oversee the FP&A function across all business units, including corporate, investment, development, residential, hospitality, and construction assets, ensuring alignment with the firm's strategic objectives.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual budgeting process and develop long-term financial forecasts for all business units, incorporating market trends, operational performance, and strategic initiatives.
  • Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain complex financial models to analyze current and future financial performance, supporting key business decisions and investment strategies.
  • Performance Analysis: Monitor and analyze financial performance across all assets, identifying key trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide actionable insights to senior leadership to drive business performance.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present detailed financial reports to senior management, board members, and other stakeholders, ensuring clarity and accuracy in financial communication.
  • Strategic Planning: Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support the firm's growth objectives, including capital allocation, risk management, and investment decisions.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with various departments, including operations, development, construction, and asset management, to ensure financial plans are aligned with business goals and initiatives.
  • Risk Management: Identify and assess financial risks across all business units, implementing strategies to mitigate potential impacts on the firm's financial performance.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve FP&A processes, tools, and systems to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness in financial planning and analysis.
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of FP&A professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and excellence.
Management Responsibilities:

This position will oversee the FP&A team.

Requirements:

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field is required; MBA, CPA, or CFA is preferred.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years of experience in FP&A, with a strong background in real estate finance, including corporate, investment, development, residential, hospitality, and construction assets.
  • Expertise: Extensive experience in financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis within a vertically integrated real estate firm.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Leadership: Proven track record in leading and developing high-performing FP&A teams, with strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey financial information to both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Technology Proficiency: Strong proficiency in financial software and tools, including advanced Excel, ERP systems, and financial reporting platforms.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to think strategically and align financial planning with broader business objectives, driving value creation across all business units.
  • Integrity: High ethical standards and a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of integrity and professionalism.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing at desk.
  • Must be able to operate a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard and tolerate prolonged periods performing work using a computer, telephone, and/or keyboard.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
