Position Overview
OMG currently operates in two Divisions: OMG Roofing Products and FastenMaster®. OMG Roofing Products is a leading global manufacturer and supplier of value-added components for the commercial roofing industry. The FastenMaster Division manufactures and markets innovative, premium quality wood-to-wood fasteners that are engineered to enable professional contractors to complete building projects safer, faster, and easier. The Product Manager is responsible for creating breakthrough new products from planning to execution and maximizing the financial performance of their product category through its lifecycle. This key position works closely with the Sales team to deliver superior solutions for our end users. The Product Manager must be a strong communicator, manage their time efficiently, possess strong organizational skills, and above all, be an enthusiastic team player.

Position Responsibilities
- Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees.
- Work with engineering resources to develop breakthrough products by gathering and analyzing voice-of-the-customer data, defining the product scope, and managing through the new product development (NPD) process.
- Understand market potential, current market share, and competitive product positioning, and analyze category sales, and industry/market trends.
- Run beta and pilot programs with early-stage products and samples.
- Understand the sales channels and route-to-market.
- Develop and implement sales training designed to enable the Field Sales team to effectively market and sell products and applications.
- Work with various cross-functional teams to drive continuous process improvement and product line acceptance.
- Develop product line forecasts and implement effective core product management strategies, including profit optimization, SKU management, and a global distribution plan.
- Work with the Marketing Communications team to create effective and visually appealing product packaging, merchandising, and collateral materials.
- Create promotional plans and utilize advertising to drive revenue growth and build customer loyalty.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience in a product management position, experience with construction products preferred.
- Demonstrated success in delivering products and services in a high-growth environment.
- Demonstrated ability to translate customer needs into innovative products that drive business demand.
- Proven ability to make smart trade-offs for time-to-market versus features, and to respond to competitive threats/opportunities.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, ability to use hard data and metrics to back up assumptions and feature concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to understand and communicate technical concepts, schedule tradeoffs, and opportunistic new ideas with technical employees.
- Strong PC skills including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- 35 – 50% travel, including some after-hours and weekends as necessary to meet deadlines.
- Positive can-do attitude.
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle while maintaining focus on safe driving and avoiding all distractions when behind the wheel, especially cell phones.
- Ability to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance; and occasionally lift/push/pull/carry up to 50
