Job Description / Essential Elements:
HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - ATTENDANCE/SPECIAL PROGRAMS
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Manages, directs and provides leadership to education support services and plant management. Assists in classroom visitations and evaluations and directs attendance program.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for campus supervision and student welfare.
Responsible for student attendance programs.
Assists in campus discipline.
Manages Work Experience and R.O.P. services.
Heads S.A.T. Committee and supervises Special Education programs.
Responsible for the referrals to the Alternative Program.
Heads S.A.R.B. Committee. Assists in staff evaluation.
Assists in supervision of school events. Assists in the hiring of staff members.
Assists in the development and formulation of school policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - EDUCATION SUPPORT SERVICES
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Manages, directs and provides leadership to educational support services, plant management and campus supervision. Assists in classroom visitations and evaluations, and in the selection and assignment of teachers.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for campus supervision and student welfare.
Responsible for campus discipline.
Assists in the supervision of school events.
Manages the student-testing program including AB 65 - Competency Testing.
Heads S.A.T. committee.
Responsible for the referral to Alternative Program.
Assists in staff evaluation.
Manages the OSHA Program.
Assists in the hiring of staff members.
Coordinates activities of the Vice Principal - Attendance/Personnel Services and/or Dean of Student Activities/Athletics.
Assists in the development and formulation of school policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - INSTRUCTIONAL SERVICES
DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
Manages, directs and provides leadership in the development of curriculum and improvement of instruction. Assists in classroom visitations and evaluations; in the selection and assignment of teachers; and coordinates counseling program.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for development of master schedule, student programming, and registration.
Responsible for the liaison between data processing and the high school for master schedule and student programming.
Coordinates the activities of the school's curriculum committee and serves as school representative to the district's Secondary Curriculum Committee.
Responsible for coordinating the instructional program with the input from division chairpersons.
Coordinates counseling program and library services.
Responsible for the coordination of the Accreditation Program.
Responsible for articulation with junior high schools, other district high schools, adult school, community colleges, R.O.P., and the State College and University system.
Assists in screening and hiring of certificated and classified employees and supervision of placement of student teachers and instructional aides.
Coordinates staff evaluations and teacher in-service training.
Evaluation of models for the instructional program and independent study contracts.
Directs student testing program (D.A.L. only).
Monitors instructional budget.
Assists in the supervision of school events.
Assists in development and formulation of school policy.
Performs other duties as assigned.
HIGH SCHOOL ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL - Requirements
CREDENTIAL: Valid California Administrative Credential; General, Standard, or Ryan Administrative or Supervision Credential (7-12).
EDUCATION: Master's Degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE: Three years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience; two years having been at the secondary level. SUPERVISION: Accountable to Principal.
BOARD APPROVED: 07-08-80

- Valid California Administrative Credential
- Valid California Teaching Credential
EXPERIENCE:
- Five (5) years of successful teaching and/or administrative experience; two (2) years having been at the secondary level required.
EDUCATION:
