JOB DESCRIPTION - Basic Qualifications:At least 5 years' experience as a Design Researcher in a business or consulting capacityAt least 2 years' experience managing project teamsHave a track record of working with teams of various stakeholders, including designers, researchers, strategists, product managers, tech partners and senior leadershipUnderstand the difference between Design Research and Market Research and have experience collaborating on initiatives between these teamsHave experience guiding teams to employ the best research methods for the problem, employing strategies to address stakeholder push back
Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree or equivalent professional experience5+ years of usability testing and user experience researchExperience teaching: design thinking, human centered design, design research
ResponsibilitiesConduct user research at all stages from discovery to validation, using a variety of methods to understand our customers and their relationship to our productsApproach business and customer problems with user goals in mindUnderstand and apply the right quantitative and qualitative methods given the circumstancesActively monitor and analyze research, data, and trends from internal sources, academic institutions, and industry reports to inform and improve our approachCollaborate to define intent, development, testing, and refinement of prototypes, as well as drive for future design and strategy based on metrics (quantitative and qualitative) gatheredDistill findings into clearly articulated and actionable insights that stakeholders can usePresent research plans and findings with various audiences, from designers tobusiness executives to get buy-inGuide teams on how best to apply findings using illustrative frameworksCreate energy and investment in research by sharing early and often, to different audiencesHelp designers and non-designers understand and apply research findingsEffectively manage multiple stakeholders' interests, priorities, and expectations and lead teams to craft a rigorous and relevant research agend
