In this role you will join a technically diverse team to include, but not limited to other Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together, this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Agency which is responsible for training law enforcement professionals from over 90 different agencies. Responsibilities Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux environments - to include: RHEL Versions 8 and 9, CentOS, Ubuntu, Apache, Nginx Create backups for internal and customer systems Design and execute disaster recovery scenarios for enterprise applications Proactively manage and monitor servers' performance, system logs, storage, network activities, and security components for optimal uptime and performance Perform Linux Server hardening and firewall configuration including Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG's) in accordance with Federal regulations Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues Utilize scripting languages: Bash, Shell, Perl, Python as well as tools such as: Ansible, Puppet, or Chef to develop and implement automation and toolsets for system administration, configuration management, and deployment automation. Continuously improve automation scripting and processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual intervention Train and support the next generation of system administrators Perform other job duties as required/assigned Qualifications 4 years of experience working as a Linux Systems Administrator specifically with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS. Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical abilities Experience with security hardening practices and applying STIGs. Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices from a system administration perspective Experience with automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef) and scripting languages (Bash, Shell, Perl, Python) Proven ability to design and administer systems based on project and client requirements Excellent written and verbal communication skills using the English language Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis on Information Technology, experience can be substituted in lieu of the degree Linux Certification such as: CompTIA Linux, RHCSA, RHCE or LPIC-2 (or greater) - preferred Must be able to pass the Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation Posted Min Pay Rate USD $66,191.00/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate USD $118,238.00/Yr. Salary Disclosure Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications. The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
