Description
Job Summary:
Ensures all mortgage loans are scheduled, closed, booked, and funded in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. Ensures that all loan application and closing requirements are met at both the federal and state level to perfect the Credit Union's lien position. Acts as an independent reviewer to ensure that best practices are performed for appraisal and evaluation functions. Completes and tracks required loan documentation, data input, document production, document audit, loan posting, and funds disbursement. Serves as a resource for the closing team.
Essential Job Duties
Review and analyze mortgage loan documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, lien position and vesting for the benefit of the member and minimize risk to the Credit Union.Verify loan for accuracy, completeness, and to ensure compliance with all SLFCU guidelines, secondary market guidelines, and federal and state regulations.Verify all applicable fees on Closing Disclosure or HUD-1 while comparing to the loan estimate for compliance and tolerance allowances.Ensure proper Closing Disclosures are provided to member in accordance with TRID and RESPA guidelines to ensure all deadlines are met and all appropriate parties are notified.Receive and confirm loan details with member prior to closing. Prepare closing documents and perform pre-funding quality control. Confirm all underwriting conditions have been satisfied. Book and fund loan transactions and submit fully executed closing package to Loan Services.Exceed members' expectations through efficient, proactive, and accurate service to ensure superior member service via a variety of delivery channels.Provide a superior member experience by:Actively listening to and anticipating the needs of the memberIdentifying and recommending solutionsReferring members to the appropriate person or departmentAnswer phone calls regarding mortgage questions accurately and professionally.Assist team with moderately complex closing issues that may arise.Serve as a resource to less experienced team members regarding job tasks.Assist with training of new department staff.Participate in the development and improvement of department procedures and processes. Be a champion for change regarding process improvements.Serve as back-up to other closers in their absence.Perform other duties as requested by management.Requirements

Thorough knowledge and understanding of real estate lending processes, regulations, terminology, guidelines, and documents, including escrow accounts, HMDA, flood, TIL-Reg Z, and loan applications. Demonstrates ability to assist others with these topics.Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and able to learn third-party software programs.Education and/or Experience:
Minimum three years' direct experience with real estate loans.Associate's degree or successful completion of a specialized course or study in real estate or related field desired.Physical Requirement:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 5 pounds at times.
