Intern-Technical Support Specialist Job Purpose The Technical Support Co-Op position provides the candidate the opportunity to learn multiple facets of IT support in a real world environment. By working with seasoned Technical Support Specialists and Network Administrators, the candidate will further develop the knowledge they are acquiring in school and gain valuable hands-on, practical experience. The Technical Support Co-Op position is responsible for providing technical resources and support to Company employees. This involves skills in training, writing, communicating, researching, troubleshooting, and developing solutions to meet both internal and external needs. Nature of Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for supporting office and production systems. Maintains a high level of customer credibility by providing customer service response and following through on that response. Develops and maintains network and systems documentation. Learn to implement, tests, and releases software upgrades and patches. Assists with installing, configures and troubleshoots laptops and workstations. Develops the ability to troubleshoot network issues. Pro-actively works at identifying and resolving potential or recurring client issues. Reports all potentially systemic problems to Management. Provides an atmosphere of ownership of customer issues and demonstrates appropriate empathy and concern. Education and Experience: MIS/CIS/CS Major with a 3.0 or Higher GPA Ability to work based on goals and ticketing system and deliver on time resolutions. Knowledge of Windows (10, 7, XP). Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Project Management skills. Intermediate Networking knowledge and skills including, but not limited to: Ethernet physical layer connectivity analysis, basic TCP/IP protocol setup and troubleshooting skills, network interface card setup and connectivity analysis. Communication skills are necessary for interacting with internal customers. Must be able to work in fast pace, high demand environment.
