Field Performance Engineer

A Snapshot of Your Day When in the office, with a cup of coffee in hand, your day starts at our calibration lab kiosk with open discussions ranging from topics concerning employees, upcoming performance tests, or development of tools and practices. This is our human time separate from all the electronic distributions of information. Questions are thought through and ideas are cultivated here Moving through each day likely includes working with PM to plan field tests, developing calculations and procedures to support upcoming thermal performance testing, collaborating with other engineers and technicians regarding instrument calibration, data acquisition development, and reviewing test results. In the field life is a bit different. This role and their team will travel to various power plants around the world. Hotel coffee in hand, job safety analysis, site activity meetings, and customer meetings all start each day. Leading the instrumentation of gas turbines and steam turbines for collection of the contractual thermal performance data followed by driving the test is the primary objective. How Youll Make an Impact Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians in the testing fields. Responsible for site testing activities and team as Field Performance Test lead. Overcome site scheduling changes and challenges. Develop new data acquisition processes and systems. Plan and complete performance test in the field per ASME, IEC, and DIN test codes. Design and update calibration and Data Acquisition software systems. Support customer meetings for planning, test procedure development and results. What You Bring BS degree in engineering or related field; 1 years direct experience in testing GT ST and CC power plants. Willing to travel internationally to support testing. Travel is expected to be greater at times than 50% and the travel schedule is on short notice with open ended return dates. Background security check required to be able to access nuclear and chemical sites Must pass an annual Siemens-Energy Health screening for field service personnel. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
