This business systems analyst position focuses on using your expertise to improve how data is managed for the company's transmission system. This role will help plan and implement new technologies, analyze data to find solutions, and design and maintain databases to give better insights for decision-making. This includes tasks like data backup, ensuring data accuracy, and improving existing systems overall. This full-time position is located in Vancouver, WA. Drives the development of big data and data mining solutions to help the company by enabling them to extract, analyze, and model data to solve previously unsolved problems of a complex and nuanced nature. Introduces new analytical and predictive models and methodologies that serve to establish new best practices in operations. Develops and recommends new solutions for data access, maximization, and utilization, and identifies trends and opportunities for future development. Performs research to design and implement algorithms for extracting information from large quantities of raw data. Performs independent studies and assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of new computational and storage technologies in comparison to current systems capabilities. Provides visuals and executive summaries as a technical advisor to senior management and other stakeholders. Interprets model output for impacted and interested operational parties and stakeholders. Develops and applies appropriate testing and prototyping of programs. Provides technical expertise on analytics that address company and industry-specific questions. Creates procedural and technical documentation of models before handing over routine model running to reporting personnel. Reviews analytics created by others, provides advice and consultation, and leads independent verification of results, when needed. Facilitates coordination of data and selection of methodologies. Facilitates gathering and analyzing information using standard tools and approaches to integrate data from multiple sources. Clarifies business operations and functions and solve existing problems. Performs and fixes complex SQL queries. Creates data models to store program data. Coordinates with Geographic Information System (GIS) program representatives. Works closely with IT groups to coordinate current and future IT plans and activities, including coordination and technical assistance to facilitate specific development projects that involve the computing environment. Marks documents and maintains filing system(s), files, emails, and records in accordance with compliance requirements. Shares and disperses documents only to appropriate personnel (those with a Lawful Government Purpose (LGP) to know). Marks and maintains all official records in accordance with the Information Security (INFOSEC) and Information Governance & Lifecycle Management (IGLM) standards and procedures.
