This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's multiple Blue Moon lander product lines. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building a sustainable infrastructure to transport crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As a System Engineer on the Lunar Permanence Program Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Requirements, Verification, and Certification (RVC) team you will be responsible for the collaboration and coordination of the software development across the Program and certification of critical models and simulations. Your work will enable the development of the Human Landing System (HLS) and Human-class Delivery Lander (HDL). You will work directly with Blue Origin LP elements, our National Team Partners, and NASA. You will play a key role in developing the lunar transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Working with all element software teams, assure the Program will meet the intent and criteria of all Program-level software requirements. Assure the Program is meeting all software and models & simulations technical standards for Blue Origin and NASA requirements. Support the software related safety products produced for the Program. Track metrics for software certification products. Perform technical work and provide technical leadership of the highest caliber. Utilize good engineering and business judgement to ensure the most efficient and effective product is designed, manufactured, procured, tested, qualified, and delivered. Work independently towardlong-range objectives without appreciable direction and determine the technical objectives of assignments to develop approaches to solutions. Embody, promote, and coach the Blue Origin leadership principles. Provide leadership and guidance to the element teams. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software development, testing, and verification and/or systems modeling and simulation development in aerospace industry Experience with NASA on a development program Understanding of spacecraft systems and subsystem functions, and their interfaces Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Minimum of a B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field. Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Preferred Qualifications Experience with NPR 7150.2D Software Engineering Standard or equivalent. Experience with NASA-STD-7009A Models and Simulations Standard or equivalent. Experience with NASA-STD-8739.8A Software Safety Standard or equivalent. Experience with the Blue Origin SLD Program, either MK1 or MK2. Experience working on a verification program for a complex spaceflight or aviation system. Experience with requirements and V&V tracking tools, preferably using JAMA. Experience operating on an Agile team. Experience with NASA design and certification
