Job Description Summary
WVNCC seeks applicants for Sr. Systems Analyst.The Sr. System Administrator will be the expert for the student information system ("SIS") and customer relationship management system ("CRM"). As the expert, the Sr. System Administrator will gain an overall understanding of the systems and be able to provide best practices leading to operational efficiencies as well as improve data accuracy. Best practice will range from front end user processes to backend automation.
The Sr. System Administrator will work closely withInstitution Research who will ultimately be reporting on the SIS data and require absolute consistency and accuracyIT Programmer who will develop & maintain automation scripts to improve efficiencies in repetitive, predictable tasksIT Programmer who will develop & maintain interfaces with other systems to eliminate manual and/or duplicate processes as well as maximize the use of all systems.Front end users including student services, financial aid, business office, registrar and others to understand their processes (isolated or cross-departmental) and implement best practicesVendor support staff who have the absolute expertise in the product capabilities and will be an invaluable resource.The SIS is the College's primary system of record for student data. The CRM compliments the SIS to provide improved communication. The Sr. System Administrator will develop & maintain processes that keep a synchronization of data between the two systems. Furthermore, checks and balances are to be developed and maintained to ensure data integrity at all times.
The Sr. System Administrator is a professional information technology position. The typical cycle of work will beIdentification of an opportunity to gain efficiency or data accuracy through front end user interaction or general observation.Researching best practices with the vendor and/or other institutionsDevelop processes around the best practices with interactive sessions with end usersWorking with programmer if that expertise is requiredVerify reporting integrity along the wayImplement the solutionThis cycle defines the need for both interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues and ability to work solely for long periods of time of concentration.
